SEARCHLIGHT
SEARCHLIGHT is a ministry that views the whole
Criminal Justice System as a mission field. It seeks
to "arrest" the people associated with the Justice
System with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
This includes Law Enforcement Officers at all levels
of government, Judicial professionals, and Court
Service workers, incarcerated men, women, and
juveniles, victims of crime, and the families of
them all.
Heading up this ministry is Chuck Baker, who retired
from the Air Force and entered this ministry on a
full time basis. Chuck currently serves as the
Chaplain for the Abilene Police Department, and as
volunteer Chaplain at the French M. Robertson unit
of the Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice. In addition
to these responsibilities, Chuck also travels around
the region, which covers Texas and New Mexico,
speaking in churches to encourage and assist them in
beginning outreach ministries to the Justice System
in their own areas.
God has blessed this ministry. New works have
started in Amarillo and in Austin, and several have
felt God's call to serve Him in this way.
The
result is clear. God is changing lives of inmates,
police, judges, victims, loved ones touched by our
system of justice. The opportunities to serve our
Lord are endless. Sound exciting? It is! Care to
join in? Give us a call! (325) 676-3733. |
